sausage rolls

Makes: 16 (bite-sized starters)

Method:

  1. pre-heat the oven to 200°c
  2. mix the ingreadients well together in a bowl until a smooth texture
  3. roll into a long sausage shape on the puff pastry sheet and roll pastry around mixture
  4. cut to desired lengths (usually bite-sized, e.g. 5cm long) and place on oven tray and glaze with egg
  5. cook for around 10 mins or until golden brown
  6. serve straight out of the oven

Ingredients:

  • 500g minced beef and pork mix
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • mixed herbs (to taste try rosemary, parsley, oregano or a mixed herb pre mix or Italian herb mix)
  • salt and pepper to season
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce (e.g. Lea and Perrins)
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • ready-made puff pastry block
