sausage rolls
Makes: 16 (bite-sized starters)
Method:
- pre-heat the oven to 200°c
- mix the ingreadients well together in a bowl until a smooth texture
- roll into a long sausage shape on the puff pastry sheet and roll pastry around mixture
- cut to desired lengths (usually bite-sized, e.g. 5cm long) and place on oven tray and glaze with egg
- cook for around 10 mins or until golden brown
- serve straight out of the oven
Ingredients:
- 500g minced beef and pork mix
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- mixed herbs (to taste try rosemary, parsley, oregano or a mixed herb pre mix or Italian herb mix)
- salt and pepper to season
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce (e.g. Lea and Perrins)
- 1 tbsp tomato sauce
- ready-made puff pastry block
